Resident at the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften: January‒March 2012 Research topic at the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften: »Vulnerability and Global Justice« Project outline: Moral philosophers accept that we have an obligation to protect the vulnerable; however, what precisely vulnerability is is often not spelled out. This project aims to examine the concept of vulnerability, what it is and why it is morally problematic. In a second step, this concept of vulnerability will be applied to questions of global justice. What can we learn from vulnerability when thinking about global justice?
